Elementary school Essay Example for Free
Elementary school Essay As the end of the semester approaches, there are lots of experiences and learning that I would like to share during my internship at Paul Revere Elementary school. Just like in any experiences there are good things and bad things all at the same time. These experiences made my stay at Paul Revere Elementary school worth spending. Setting goals is something very important because this makes a person knowledgeable of his/her purpose. Even before going into my internship there are different goals that I would like to attain in my stay at Paul Revere Elementary school. Now that I am approaching the end, I believe that I am able to attain the goals that I established even before I entered my internship. It is also during my stay at Paul Revere Elementary school that I learned lots of things. During my stay there are things that I know that I would learn. One of this would be the importance of education to people especially to young students. My stay at Paul Revere Elementary school made me more aware of how important education is. There are also some things that I did not expect to learn at this school and this is how different students have different needs that teachers needs to consider. This is a very important factor consider in education and learning how to cater to these different needs is something that Paul Revere taught me. Because of these experiences, I believe it strengthened my career choice rather than question it. These experiences are enough proof to show how much I value now being a teacher. Being able to shape young minds is a very rewarding experience and I will never exchange this experience for anything else.

Natural Descriptions in Coleridges and Lord Byrons Texts Essay
Natural Descriptions in Coleridge's and Lord Byron's Texts Works Cited Missing Two closely related texts, one that we've studied in this class and one that we haven't, that handle natural description differently are Coleridge's "The Rime of the Ancient Mariner" and Lord Byron's "Manfred." Both of these texts' central characters have experienced trauma, and their portrayal of their environments reveal the effects that the events have left on them. While Coleridge's mariner is unable to consolidate his past and is relegated to constantly relive it, Byron's Manfred has protected himself from his unnamed vice by distancing himself from his feelings and environment. Obvious parallels exist between the poems, but what I found most striking was the way the narrator illustrates the events and how they result from their mode of handling the traumatic events. The Mariner comes to terms with killing the albatross, and consequently killing his crewmates, by repeatedly voicing his guilt. His description of the souls passing him "like the whiz of [his] crossbow," (l 224) assumption that telling his tale to the hermit will "wash away/ The albatross' blood," (ll 512-13) and expression that "The pang, the curse, with which they died/ Had never passed away" (ll 438-39) shows how the mariner can never accept his actions and alleviate his guilt. I think that it's natural for people to want to come to terms with their past actions in order to better accept one's present state of self, which is why the mariner continually attempts to reconcile his past. The mariner is unable to accomplish this by telling others his story. His descriptions of the story's retelling are affected by his lack of reconciliation. He projects himself into the land... ...o the heavens, and the earth to Mont Blanc which is described as the "monarch of mountains" (1.1 60). The spirits are influential in the stories prominently for the two characters, which reflect the preoccupations and processes of dealing with their traumas. Lastly, the realization that the environment is subjective, due to the power that the mind holds. As Manfred acknowledges, "The mind which is immortal makes itself / Requital for its good or evil thoughts" (3.4 129-130). This originally appears in Milton's Paradise Lost, implying that it's the mind that creates the heaven or the hell. And although Manfred's view on the mind is dark, and very sceptical, he does realize the creative power available to the subject. This same power is expressed in in their descriptions of nature and is influenced by the methods that they go through in dealing with their trauma.

LIfe Goals Essay
I left college for a year to come back home and work. At the time that I left school I didnââ¬â¢t think that it was for me. I was working my butt off at school every day with no reward. At times I felt as if it was all for nothing. I didnââ¬â¢t have a job, I needed money and I stayed stressed out and bogged down with all different types of coursework. I just felt that my talents and effort could be put to better use elsewhere. I felt that if I dropped out and became employed full time that that situation would better suit me. However, after having had taken the working manââ¬â¢s route and still barely making ends meet I feel like I made an irrational decision by leaving college. I also found out that a college graduate has the potential to make up to a million more dollars in their lifetime as opposed to those with only a high school diploma. That tiny bit of information was enough to change my mind and lead me towards wanting to get back into school. I made a hasty decision in leaving school in the first place. I was more concerned about my current living situation instead of being focused on long term goals and how successful I wanted to be later on in life. I guess I can say that I had a little growing up to do. Now I can confidently say that Iââ¬â¢m more focused than Iââ¬â¢ve ever been in my entire life and that nothing will hinder me from becoming successful.

Feminism Why Young Women Get The Willies - 897 Words
As I grew up I never realized that I was growing up in a family with very feministic views. Growing up I knew my grandmother ruled her house and the women in my family tended to make most of the choices. I never realized that this was so different than others until I started seeing other peopleââ¬â¢s family structure and the different topics in feminism. So as a child even though I was not raised with the word feminism in my vocabulary but I was getting the base of my feministic outlook on life now. But one of the biggest fears that seemed to happen in the article as well as now is the fear that if you talk feminism or say you are a feminist is that you either hate men but are lesbian. Around here we lean heavily on the age old family values, where you get married and have children. Hogeland also talks about that on 719 of ââ¬Å"Fear of Feminism: Why Young Women Get the Williesâ⬠when she says that you have to go against homophobia as well as old age family values (Hogeland ). This is so true because evne in my own life I donââ¬â¢t want to say I am a feminist around certain groups of people because I know that they would assume I hate men and thus would question any actions I do, even if they have nothing to do with men or feminism as a way to break me down. In areas like this it is still a very big fear to go against age old things that have been passed down from person to person. But in the end while I get that fear, as I myself have it around a few select groups. But as the world isShow MoreRelatedThe Color Purple: A Story of Transformation Essay1231 Words à |à 5 PagesIt is possible to say that the conceptions of womenââ¬â¢s experiences do not speak to the conceptions of men. The Revolution in the English Textile Industry - 1304 Words
The hidden story is like a seed of single cotton, hidden inside its soft fluffiness. The truth is clinged into the historical facts, through books, media, or other sources, and you have to work it this way and that. Itââ¬â¢s almost as if the various facts want to hold on to it and keep it hidden. And the history of cotton is too long and complicate, in a certain way, is the story about of cotton and people in America that found the Industrial Revolution in America. Expressing the outstanding development, Karl Marx wrote in 1846 that ââ¬Å"without cotton you have no modern industry.â⬠For Marx, the relationship between cotton and slavery was similarly unambiguous: ââ¬Å"Without slavery, you have no cotton.â⬠(1) Cotton came to America from England industrial development. Cotton, a shrubby plant, thrives in warm climates just suitable for South regions and couldnââ¬â¢t be grown in the North, because the climate was too cold. (2) Early in the seventeenth century, agriculture in the American South was dominated by ââ¬Å"staplesâ⬠or money crops ââ¬â products (tobacco, then rice, indigo, and sugar) that fetched a high price in the marketplaces of Europe; finally came cotton, the king of them all. (3) By 1860, cotton dominated the American economy. The South exported 66 percent of the worldââ¬â¢s supply, and cotton made up more than half of the supply with almost 90 percent of cotton grown in the South. Much of Southern society had become dependent upon a cotton culture and the institution of slavery. Clinical Experience For Nursing School After The...
This week was a fun week of clinical experience for me. I got to rest and recharge my energy toward nursing school after the cardiovascular exam. I was very disappointed on my exam after all the hard work of studying and was doubt myself for not being able to complete my nursing program due to my failure of examination. However, after one week of break, I am ready to face the difficulty of examination again. This week I get to be in the OR unit which is something that I have no prior experience on. I didnââ¬â¢t know what to expect. I was so excited to have this opportunity. The OR unit is unlike all the other hospital settings. It is another world within the OR unit. First of all, everyone has to change to the surgical scrub in order to be in the OR unit. Then there is a preop unit, operation unit, and the postop unit. After I pick the patient I wanted to follow throughout the day, I went to introduce myself to the patient and the preop nurse that is taking care of the patient p rior to the surgery. I observed the preop nurse, MD, operation room nurse, anesthetist, and surgeon came in one after another to ask questions regarding patientââ¬â¢s past and present medical history. The preop nurse monitors the patientââ¬â¢s vital signs and tells the patient to do the lung expansion activity. Then the nurse started an IV line and draws two tube of blood out for the lab.
